Free journal skins

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 9, 2009, 1:04 PM
Something I don't have to pay for? On dA?!
That's new.

Even though most skins look... weird.
I wanted one with rainbows and bubbles, because I've been feeling all girly recently.
I wish I had uber internet skillz to do one myself.

After searching for really bad poems about rainbows to end this useless journal, I found this wonderful quote:

"We always said, when the sun shines while it is raining, then the devil is beating his wife."

- some person called Scarlett Threat

Such a beautiful association!

SO, I was wondering. How do you get taught about the war in Germany? Is it very like "WE WERE TERRRIBLY WROOONG" or not?

Oh, I really didn' expect this question! It's hard for me to explain something like this in English...
We are taught about it different ways. We just don't say "Hey, the people back then were just nuts and racist and we are guilty forever". We try to understand how it led up to what happened, how anti-Semitism became manifested in many cultures and countries way before, the dangerous ideology, misinterpretation of Darwin's theories, why people actually believed in Hitler and so on...
While we are trying to understand how Hitler got so much support we also get to know what his real intentions were and, if I may say it like this, how megalomaniac and hateful people became after feeling like being involved and strong in society.
We are not just supposed to learn that we were wrong and have to live with this guilt, we are supposed to learn why we were wrong, how to prevent and criticize.
I don't think I portrayed enough of our teaching methods, but my English isn't good enough to explain things further xD
How are you taught about it? There can't be such a great difference, can it?

Well, fuck.
:iconfrogger277:
Hm, yes. Well, I live in a rather liberal country, so we go out of our way to study the tension in Europe before the war began. That is, if you take history. The younger years just get taught that he was a horrible man, and this is what happened. If you wanted to understand the mentality of Hitler, you had to go out of your way. I'd imagine that studying it was more intense in Germany.

I just didn't know if you were like America. Their civil war is often taught like "YEAH, BUT, WE STILL PUT UP AN AMAZING FIGHT" from southern people. Though, I would say that south of the United States is the most narrow minded place in the world.

The children here are taught the same. Three years ago we learned about the political issues and tensions and last year we had the whole mentality and ideology thing.

Well, fuck.
:iconfrogger277:
Wow. You practically study it every year?
